How come we don't have RDS?
Many cars with built in CD/Radios have RDS (Radio Data System) built in, even in the cheap stuff. I wonder why they didn't integrate that into our TL's. I know the NAVI one does not have one, does the non-navi have RDS? There are many times I get sick of XM and wan't to listen to FM radio.
Thanks

I know what you mean though. It's nice having the additional song info etc. on the screen/display. Had it in my Maxima but not very many stations actually broadcast it either. Some transmit all the info others just a portion.. Maybe Acura is waiting until it's a standardized format or something - just speculating... I don't really know much about it.
Maybe in 2007

have you ever listened to sirius????
i actually thought sat radio was a stupid 12 dollars a month to spend, but that was when I'd only heard my buddy's XM.
I got sirius for stern, and as a nice side effect, the music in my opinion is far superior to XM
I bet if you'd try the other service you'd never need to listen to FM again ever
that's really sad to me that a service you'd pay 13 bucks a month for would be more boring than standard free radio with commercials (sat radio has commercials on talk stations)

I guess we don't have RDS because some executive at Acura made the financial decision that it wasn't worth spending another few cents across 60-70k cars a year.
It's not a big deal to me because I almost exclusively listen to XM now....most of the time lately CNN and the comedy channel (150).

I thought of this to, I figured there was some setting somewhere, but I guess there is not. Does anyone know if the TL has that new HD FM?

Even the quality on the SAT radio doent match that of CDs.

After buying some DVD-A discs I cant compare anything 2 channel that includes XM. Well anyway hwo about CD-TEXT? I guess Acura didn't want to add that "made in taiwan" chip because it costs $999,999,999 dollars?

I wouldn't be suprised if XM told them not to put it in because it may decrease the # of subscriptions. If your FM radio gives you track info for free it kind of takes away the advantage of XM which costs $$.

Point taken but there's many times when I flip through all the stations I normally listen to and there's crap on each station and I end up putting on a cd so it's a toss up.
