How can I tap the Navi Audio?

Sounds almost useless but I am installing my Ham Radio gear into my new 06 TL w/ Navi and I think it would be perfect if I could piggyback on the DVD Navi Audio. That way I could listen to the FM Radio or whatever and if audio comes out of the Ham Radio it would mute the front speakers just like when the Navi is giving directions.
Maybe?

I thought about the USASpec iPod interface but that's all or nothing, so it is my backup plan.

Anyone have the pinouts for the DVD Navi system in the trunk, or am I looking in the wrong place?

Any help would be appreciated!

I did not see a harnes for the NAVI in teh trunk but I might be able to tap just the center speaker... I would have to engineer somethign so theye would not feed each other. (Ham Radio Output / Radio Output)

Thank you though.

the harness in the trunk does not have any audio wires. everything to do with audio and the muting is behind the radio.

No sound comes from the trunk mounted DVD "reader", just data. Honestly though - I don't know if the voice prompts are generated from the trunk unit or another "Nav brain" up front some where....

A very easy place to tap into the audio is the output of the XM receiver. It is just forward of the nav unit, same side in the trunk. For about $25 (Radioshack parts) I built my own switch/audio input device that plugs in between the XM receiver and the head unit/amp via RCA jacks (all in the trunk). One switch now activates my auxiliary audio input as well as auxiliary video input. Mine was for facilitating a DVD player etc., but audio only is quite easy.

Like you mentioned though, this would be another"all or nothing" mod for your HAM audio, not a mute effect like the Nav voice or HFL
