HFL Stuck on Pairing mode

I just tried pairing my samsung bluetooth phone to my 2004 TL. I got through most of the steps then the TL got stuck in Pairing mode.

Now all it displays on the status screen is "Pair" 0000. Now I can not use the radio/cd player/xm. It seems to be stuck in pair mode. Anyone else have this issue before? Any suggestions?

i had mine freeze up on "phone." i pulled a "3amp" fuse from under the hood and it cleared up and hasn't happened since then. i did have to program my presets all over again. once again, i haven't had any problems since then. i hope this helps.

The 3amp fuse didn't work. there is a fuse box under the drivers side. In there there is a fuse for the interior lights, pull that out and put it back in. That clears it up right away. Good luck.

It happened to me before...you have to take to the dealership and they will replace it for you, thats if your car under warranty...

I talked to the dealership today and they told me the 2004 HFL system is no longer in stock, so I guess they are ordering a newer version that should be in tomorrow, so I'm still waiting ........

I had this same exact problem when I recently bought my 04 TL three weeks ago. This is a known problem and is easily fixed by taking it to the dealership. Apparently if your unit was produced prior to some date then they are defective. They should know about this problem as it is pretty common on the 04 model. There is a TSB about this so you could even take a copy of this if they give you the run around. It is located

here - http://www.in.honda.com/Rjanisis/pubs/SB/B05-020.PDF

But just take it to the dealer and they will fix it for sure, (that is if your within warranty)
