Each time the car goes into the dealership, they can't find anything wrong with my HFL. My speakers sound blown when using the HFL but sound fine when using any other input (radio, xm, ipod etc). It doesnt happen every time, but happens more than it should. Originally dealership said it was my phone and that I needed to buy an iphone because that works best. So after doing so I still have this issue, which makes using the HFL almost impossible. Took it in AGAIN with printed out HFL Service Bulletin (HFL also locks up and won't disconnect). And service manager told me that it is because the car is from 2004 and that since he can't find anything wrong that he can't use any goodwill on the repair. He told me that the first generation HFL quality is bad and that updating it wouldn't do any good in his opinion. I am so pissed that they have looked at it 3 times and still won't admit it is faulty.

Any reccomendations? Also have done lots of searches but want to know if anyone else had this issue, it only happens during HFL use, and audio from speakers from people calling me creates a crackle, blown sound.

My 2004 sounds pretty bad too... and I have the HFL going over some Focal Utopias and some higher end amps.

The 2006 that I have sounds a LOT better.

It appears normal to me... something that you will likely just have to live with. Replacing the speakers will not help.

 

Doesn't HFL play through the center channel speaker?
