HFL Replacement: Is it worth it?
Hey all,
So I bought my TL about two months ago, and it came with the dreaded and oh-so-notorious HFL "booting up" issue. Before I plonk down $176 to replace it, I want to be sure it is worth it. If you could weigh in (particularly those of you with Android phones) as to the real-life usability of the unit and whether or not you would replace it when/if it bit the dust, that'd be sweet!

Thanks. Is the call quality pretty good for those on the other end of the call? I am thinking I am gonna replace it, as having non-functioning parts of my car has always driven me crazy.

Yeah it's worth having. Hands free is so convenient while driving. Mine just broke last week and I'm already buying a new one. I don't want to be without it. Call quality and sound is excellent. You should spend the $ on it.

Yeah, this is what I was thinking. Although it isn't illegal to drive without hands-free in my state, using a phone through downtown with a manual transmission can be a bit of a juggling act.

I have a 4G Evo...
worked like a charm and my bluetooth unit took a dump. Was quoted $800 to replace at dealer...opted to buy the $180 part and install myself and have never been happier. Works flawlessly.
The BT feature on an 8 year old car was one that I was most proud of. Losing that would have made me sad. Well worth the money.
