well my warranty is up like anyyyday now.. anyway i read a thread awhile back getting it updated.. or replacing the mic or something i asked the dealer they didnt help much. I speak very clear english when i said 3333 it says 8888 its quite aggravating does anyone have any specific reference or thread i can use to maybe get this fixed

 

I don't know but my navi likes 8's also. Whenever I try to program a new phone number it sticks a couple of 8's in randomly.

 

1) Try talking faster than usual when saying numbers- my HFL works perfectly that way, but completely messes up with 8s and 0s if I try to speak slowly or clearly.

2) Otherwise, there was a long-standing TSB for defective HFL units, usually triggered where they lock up or where excessive background noise is transmitted on calls and the HFL does not respond properly to voice commands.

that tsb sounds more like the system is locking up etc... my actual problem is in the microphone in my car any ideas?? =[ not sure if it falls into that category

I also have an 04 and I noticed this issue, like others said, try to speak normally but louder then usual. The mic will turn off if it doesn't receive enough sound.

I now have plenty control on my HFL now with practice!! GOOD LUCK!
