HFL not working!!!!!

Hey,

I just bought used 06 TL. Everything is working fine except HFL. I can't pair my BB 9700 bold with HFL. I read the manual and i guess doing the right setup procedure but nothing is working out for me
This is what i am doing: Press/release and saying "Phone setup" and nothing happens...

I have tried it 100 times and everytime same result. All other voice commands of navi, audio etc are working fine.

I don't know what i'm missing or doing something wrong.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Regards,

The button that you want it top/top, if you have navi and just the top if you don't.

There is not always a beep.

Does the MID switch to the HFL when you hit the button? Get it to trip, or something, and then hit the button.

Yes i'm using the top button but still same result.
The MID switch does not change to HFL when i press the button.
Moreover, if i put the radio on and hit the button it should mute the radio but unfortunately it's not happening. I have no idea what's going on!!!
I called HFL support line she created my case# and asked me to go Acura dealer. I really don't want to go Acura becoz it would be expensive.
Any more suggestions my frnds?????

Sorry to hear that. The 2006 HFLs are known to have a really high fail rate.

The HFL in my 2006 has never really worked. I tried to fix it with a new capacitor, but results were mixed.

I think that you just might be SOL like so many of us.

Perhaps some good-will on a new purchase will save you, if you got it from an Acura dealer. Dealers have quoted anywhere from 600-800 to fix, so keep that in mind. Good luck.
