Need guidance-LOL

Im trying to put a system in my 04 tl but im running into some issues. not the first time ive put one in and i took this exact system out of my truck to put in my car. amp settings were left alone and the subs stayed connected the whole time. ok to start i have a line out connector for the rca's (using factory radio) im running remote wire from the radio fuse. i wired the line in connector to the back two speakers. in my truck the amp was little less than half way up. it was really loud even with it all the way up in tl about as much as factory sub and the bigger problem is when i turn the car off and pull the key out it still hits and it sounds like a helicopter or a wrx lol. called local audio shop all they could say was that it could either be a) the rca are not working b) a bad ground, granted i didn't scratch the paint when i put the ground wire under the carpet in trunk it still should be fine. or c) that i need a different in line connector. one that picks up a digital signal due to the factory amp possible being digital? im sure someone out there has a system in there tl i would appreciate the help. thanks

a) the RCA's could be having an issue
b) why should the ground still be fine if you didn't scratch the paint? You should always scratch the paint to get metal on metal. I would try this 1st.
c) a possibility that there is a problem there since you may be driving much more voltage into the line driver since it is connected after the factory amp, but shouldn't be a problem since others have done it with success. The factory amp is NOT digital. Amps have a digital section in the pre-amp (the TL does not) but at some point it gets converted to analog.

Try the ground 1st.

It may be fine, but you should always scratch the paint. Maybe the surface in the TL has more paint applied than your truck did.

Why did you use the rear speakers instead of the subwoofer? The rear 6.5s are crossed above 80hz and probably won't provide a good signal for your subwoofer. I would hook the LOC up to your factory sub wires and try that.

You also might need to ground your LOC.

Agreed. I ran mine to the rear speakers once. No low bass.

I don't think that there are noise canceling microphones in a 2004. If there are, then I didn't unhook any when I did my install.

You need to start isolating components. Wire it back up to the rear sub first, then change stuff out until it works. This should be a simple install.

I would start with the LOC and make sure that it is rated at more than 30 watts since the sub channel is higher powered than most speakers.

Also, don't rule out that your amp might be bad.

i guess that its possible that my amp went bad its kinda old but it worked just fine when i pulled it out of my truck. and installing it on the factory sub its worse like i said it just makes one tone the whole time and i don't think the factory one worked when i hooked to it or it took the power. the LOC was pretty cheap (20 bucks) so it may be the problem. ill check its power rating

Sorry to high-jack. But i wired my left and right AUX from my amp to the rear speakers, accordingly. Do you guys think i would be better set if i just re-wire to the stock sub its self? Also my CD player took a crap on me, you guys think the cause is from wiring it to the rear speakers?? I would love to get a better deeper sound if i could.

Unequivovally, yes. The rear speakers do not go low enough - hook them back up and wire the amp from the sub channel.

amp is a lanzar vibe and the LOC is an axxiss brand i think. but i wired the loc to the sub first in hopes that i would be able to control the subs from the radio and it was the only one i could reach from the trunk. but like i said all i got was a single bass tone.
