HFL Code Locked

Hello,

I bought my Acura TL from a dealer (non-Acura) and did not check that the bluetooth HFL was locked. The code was set by a previous owner that traded this car in and the dealer cannot get hold of him/her to retrieve the code. I took the car to an Acura dealer and he would charge me $63 for resetting the code. What are my choices?
Reading threads on the forum, I believe that none of the following options would work:
1. Disconnect and reconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove and replace the #7 fuse.

I have already tried a few common codes, such as 000, 1234, 9876, etc. I was thinking of printing a list of numbers and try them one by one for a few days.. (I know, it will be 10,000 numbers). My question is, while trying this, will the system lock up forever after certain number of attempts?

I would appreciate it if someone has other alternatives that may be safe to try.

Thanks

Call your local locksmith and ask them if they have a GNA600 tool (dealer scan tool), it should take him 5 mins to unlock, then go to: electronics - hands free link - cancel all passwords! Should be cheaper than the dealership. GL
