HFL Buttons Unresponsive
Hoping someone on this board has experienced a similar issue as mine. I have 05 Acura TL (no nav) and the HFL system up and decided to go out on me the other day. Neither of the buttons are responding; however, everything else seems to be working fine...radio, interior lights etc.
I read a couple posts mentioning to disconnect the battery for a few minutes..I tried this but was no help. Any other suggestions on how to reboot the system or which fuses to check would be greatly appreciated.
thanks.

does it say booting up in the MID? Hold down the talk and end buttons for about 10 seconds and it should go into self diagnostics. If not, your HFL unit needs to be reset/replaced.

I have the same issue. All of a sudden today..the HFL buttons became unresponsive. My MID says "IN USE" and is forcing the car to think that a call is active (or in-progress). As a result I cant use the CD player controls as well.
When I get an in-coming call..I can see the number in the MID but cant accept the call using the HFL button.
The car is under warranty and I plan to take it to the dealer.

Apologies for restarting this thread, but am still having problems with my 05 TL HFL unit.
As the Moderator suggested in their response, I've held both buttons down for >10 sec with no success. I've also tried to disconnect the battery to see if this would somehow reset the system. The MID still displays "Booting Up" on the display. I've also tried removing the HomeLink Assembly, unplugged all of the harnesses to see if this would reset the system, and still no luck.
I'm now convinced that its a bad HFL unit but am not really interested in paying the dealer $527 for the replacement part.
Does anyone know of a website that might carry this part at a more competitive price?

You can try www.hondacuraworld.com or perhaps a local junk yard.

Some HFL modules are defective and there is TSB on this with the defective series of module numbers. If you feel lucky..then you may be covered and the dealer will replace this for free.
