I just got a Motorola V710 to do the HFL thing with my 04 TL Navi. When I tried the HFL for the first time (with the V710 in the car) I get two results that puzzle me: 1) nothing happens when I press the HFL Talk button on the steering wheel, and 2) I get "Booting Up" displayed in the MID forever (I waited for at least a couple minutes) with no change and no results when I select the HFL via MID.

Any ideas?

Yes. I took it to the dealer, and they ended-up replacing the HFL module (located in the roof behind the lighting / HomeLink panel) - all covered by warranty. Works fine now, except no signal or battery level indicator in the MID using my Moto V710. Maybe later V710 firmware will solve that?? The dealer said this HFL module failure was a first for them.
