I've had trouble pairing my Samsung Galaxy S3 with my 05 TL. Anyone have any advice?

I have the 08, but my S3 pairs fine. Which part of the procedure are you having a problem with? The owner's manual describes exactly what you need to do. Make sure you're putting your phone in discoverable mode. Do this in Settings>Bluetooth and then check the first box (in my case, it says "Vlad's Phone", but this will be the name of your device)

I have a Note 3 and it connects to my 05 TL no problem. And my mom's GS3 is linked to my car too so when she uses it.

If you have your manual it can explain also the proper procedure since "phone setup" option usually doesn't appear on the voice commands to get things to work.

But please explain what part in the process is not working.

Yeah, "phone setup" definitely does not work for me. I simply get a reply of "please repeat" but no further options to pair phone.

Yeah I'm having difficulty getting further options. I say "phone setup" and get a reply of "please repeat" or "what you say again" I don't get passed that yet.

Do you have an accent?

Just kidding. Your HFL might be toast or maybe the mic is damaged. Does your car have NAV?

Is your 05 Nav or non-Nav?

Also it would be helpful to know what carrier your S3 is on and what versions of Android and firmware you have. System Settings -> About Phone will show you that. Model Number and Android Version would be good to start since "S3" alone isn't enough to be sure someone else who says theirs works is really in the same situation.

But, since you can't even really get the car to get past your first voice request it could be the car (mic, etc.) as others suggest.

Haha I'm not sure that Californians have an accent that can't be read. Yeah it has NAV.

Yes it's NAV, it's on AT&T. Model number: Samsung-SGH-I747 Android Version: 4.1.2

See if the navigation unit takes voice commands. Try something like "find nearest gas station" or "temperature 72". Not sure how much these commands changed from 06-07 Navs, but it would tells us if the problem is with the MIC or the HFL, because it seems to definitely not be with the phone if the HFL keeps asking you to repeat commands and can't find a discoverable device.

Try with a different phone too, to see if you can duplicate the problem.

My S3 worked without any issues. Recently it died and I had to replace the motherboard, making it essentially a new phone. Couldn't pair it- tried many times and gave up. My wife's S3 paired and has been working fine. Mystery...
