Help find if sub navi screen will work with non nav.

Hey guys, i am starting to do the Ipad mod to my car, but i am having a bit of a conflict, instead of moving the non-nav screen to the bottom like some ppl have i want to keep my free space but use the climate controls to fit where we all have the free space or the radio, well the radio is also coming out in replace with a Audison BIt one module (controlls treble, bass, sub, and volume).

well my question is where the clock is displayed for non-nav tls can i replace it wit the sub-screen for nav tls i provided pics. i herd one person was able to do it but can find that post i looked every where. But i would buy the sub screen to test it but i want to make sure because its non refundable. so if anyone has done a mod where instead of moving the non-nav screen to the bottom but instead used the nav-subscreen please let me know if it works then i will start the project perfectly.

non nav screen and sub-screen(clock display)

nav screen with nav-subscreen (radio/clock display)

I didn't build the harness for my conversion, but my non-navi sub screen plug is just stuffed into the dash. I bet someone here who has built their own harness would know. Sorry I don't have any info, but it's a great idea and I'd like to know if it works!

will soon just need the info to see if it will work or not.

because my stock radio will be coming out and in replace will be a Audison bit one, and i wont be needing or wanting that big non-nav screen for just climate.

One member did that a long time ago. The way they did it was by rewiring the screen for a navigation screen, and then leading the wires to the new sub-display. He hid the navigation screen behind the dash. I want to say it was member "King of Pain" but am not 100% sure.

I did try myself doing this usefull mod for CARPC users, but found that it's really a PAIN for what you GAIN. It also COST$ a lot of money...

Here's the peices you need:
Navi DVD-Player
Navi Screen (for HVAC info: Stereo + temp)
Navi GPS Antena (for clock)
Navi Sub-Display
Navi Wiring

This will all cost more then 600$ USED....I had all the parts, but was missing the wiring.

I got the temperature to work (only need the NaviScreen), but needed to wire all DVD Player (in trunk) and also wire the DVD Antenna to the DVD player to adjust the Clock....

It is doable....but so much time and $ for a small display, better doing the Navi Conversion at that point...but then again this is my opinion

The iPad Idea is a great idea, but a little big screen IMO, but then again, its ur car!

And nothing will stop you to simply relocate the HVAC display below the stereo like I did...

Good luck bro!

It's a great idea, but you'll need all NAVI parts and wiring !!

Good luck!

@sbr291 no i haven't try it, but like vmtsquad says were gonna need, navi parts like the wiring so we can connect the radio and climax to the clock display.
Im only trying to remove the climax and radio screen off mines and the radio is staying there and where the climax screen im just going to take the screen out and put the 7inch ipad in there with velcro so that way i can take it out and back it up with my computer.

i just hope i can find the wiring or someone that can doi it for me
