HandsFreeLink - DIAGNOSTIC MODE???
HandsFreeLink - DIAGNOSTIC MODE???
My 2004 TL is stuck in HandsFreeLink Diagnostic Mode and will not turn off. I read already how it is a test that runs for 10-15 seconds and then goes back to normal but mine seems to be stuck. I can't listen to music or anything. Here's what I have already tried, to fix the problem:
- I have tried holding the "Back button" down for 10 seconds like I have read.
- I have tried turning the car off and turning it back on again
- I have let the car sit over night
- I have turned the phone on and off
- I have held the Select/Restart button down
- I have messed with the < INFO > button
Nothing has worked and it sounds like something is wrong. This all started when I started programming my phonebook in the TL. I'm going to try to take it into Acura Monday, but I was wondering if there is an easy/quick fix to the problem.
Help,

Okay so I unplugged the battery and that seem to fix the problem. Just an additional note that I did not have to put in a code to re-access the sound system or navigation.

Don't disconnect the battery. Just pull the fuse panel door above the hood release in the driver's footwell. Locate fuse #10 and pull it for a few seconds. This will cut power to the HFL unit.

I found this suggestion to pull #10 first. After I pulled it, the MID still showed same, so I came back in the house and found this thread so I pulled the #6 fuse and the MID didn't change! However, when I turned the car back on, the HFL was no longer locked up. So, one of them worked for me! :-)
Thanks to you both - and to this forum, in general! I'll be contacting my dealer about the service bulletin. Thanks to loud_whispers for the recall list!

my 2004 TL's HFL got stuck in use and has been like this for 2 days. Nothing works as stated above. I will try the fuse troubleshoot; however, I did talk to acura and they said I need a new bluetooth system which will cost $450 just for parts. All I can say is I hope the fuse fix works. Anyone run accross it freezing in use?
What does pulling the fuse do? I pulled #'s 6, 7 and 10 with no luck. Maybe yours just starting working and the fuse had nothing to do with it. ??
