GPS touch screen and radio not working anymore?

well today on my way home from work, i turned the volume up and i couldnt see the volume scale on the screen or the top display. Then i couldnt change anything on the screen. If i hit disc 1,2,3,4,5,6 nothing happens, i cant get to the audio screen period. So i pulled over and turned the car off and turned it back on 15 mins later i got the volume working then it started doing it all over again. So i called the dealer and will be bringing the car in friday, is there anything i can look forward to from the dealer? i will be taking out my nav2go unit before i drop it off.

I have been having a similar problem. I can't change the volume, and when I go to change pre-sets, nothing changes. I have to shut off the car and start all over. Very strange. Let me know how everything goes.

nope the tech said he hasn't see anything like it before and has to call the main place in California for help...So they gave me a tsx loaner car till they fix it. He said its either the screen, radio, gps dvd unit or multi-plex wire....

I was having a similar issue, to the point where my touchscreen wouldnt work when I tried to press the 'OK' at the startup screen. Then my radio wouldnt work at all. I disconnected the battery in attempt to reset everything. Even took the entire dash out to check all of the wiring, seeing as I installed a carputer some months ago. I concluded that the radio unit itself is the central controlling unit for the nav and that my radio must be on its way out. For now it's all working great so...

its probably the navi drive, the navi drive controls the radio, upper screen and of course the navi. It's proably a short/cut in the wires leading to/from the drive, loose connectors at the drive or the drive itself.

Oh man. Sorry to hear that. It sounds like you are under warranty so at least it will be covered.

Hopefully you've got a good dealer and it get's fixed quickly and you don't end up with rattles as a free gift.

WHY IM SO PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!! I stripped by car back to factory minus my ipod adapter and 2 gauge power wires. They call me asking whats up with the aftermarket ipod adapter and power wire??? im like both are connected to nothing, there taped and fused so how can that cause a problem with my car. Its like having a power cord plugged in the wall but connected to nothing. I hate acura tech i mean if you cant find the problem then say that dont start trying to find the coward way out and blame anything.

Navi Troubles '05 TL

I have an '05 TL with navi, and just had a similar problem yesterday (10/28/09). When I started up the car, the Navi "splash screen/warning" displayed, and then the "ok" button popped up in it's usual bottom/right corner. The problem is that the "ok" button wasn't clickable, even after a few seconds like it usually is. No highlight around "ok" or anything.

I turned my car off a stoplight, turned it back on, but same thing. The screen turns black after a minute or so, and I can bring the "ok" screen back on by moving the toggle stick up, but I still can't select it. Touching the screen does nothing, nor does pressing the toggle stick in. Audion features (bass/tone/etc) don't work either, as the entire button panel is non-responsive.

I mashed buttons (audio, menu, info, map, etc) the entire drive home, and at one point the Navi map popped up. As I moved the toggle stick though, the red crosshairs responded like 8 seconds later, but then stopped responding altogether. Prior to me doing that, the Navi was displaying my correct location. Once again the buttons on the dash were unresponsive.

My car is out of warranty, and any tips/experieces shared will be greatly appreciated. I'll post with any further developments.

Thanks.

Hi guys,

I know it's been a long time, but I'm updating just in case anyone has this problem in the future. It turns out that I had pennies in my cassette player. If any of you have kids, and start having electrical problems with the navi/tape/cd player, either check this yourself, or have the tech check/rule this out. The coins were shorting out the Navi, and radio's electronics.

Good luck to all.

I have a similar problem. Some things work some of the time - Not all the time. I have an isimple ipod adapter for couple of years on my 05 TL. This started about a year ago. I disconnected the battery for an hour and reconnected and it worked well for a while. Now, again same problem - Fortunately the radio volumes work from the steering wheel and I can turn it down to zero even if I cannot turn it off.

What should I try to check?. Thanks in advance

Has anyone had an issue like this.. where your screens glitch and suddenly won’t turn on? Radio, Navi won’t work nor will Bluetooth or rear view camera. I have low miles on my 2016 rdx. Any insight is appreciated.
