Got the V710 plz help?

Hi All! I just bought the Motorola V710. I am having trouble with syncing the phones. I follow the directions in the manual and i had success with that. Do I have to put numbers on memory of the HFL so I can make calls. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

if i understand correctly you have successfully paired 710 to the car. If yes, you have to put numbers in the car memory. The phone does not download your phone numbers to the car. It is a pretty easy process to add numbers to your HFL in the car.

Yes you have to store the numbers in the cars "phonebook" all you do is this.

1. Press the HFL button
2. Say "Phonebook Store". It will then ask you which name would you like to store.
3. Press the HFL button
4. Say the name of the person or what you would like to say when dialing that person. It will ask you what number would you like to store for this name.
5. Press the HFL button
6. Say the number that you would like associated with this name and it should store it.

Then when you would like to call the person / name you stored in your phone book :
1. Press the HFL button
2. Say "Call (Name)". It will confirm who you would like to call by saying "Would you like to call (name you stored).
3. Press the HFL button
4. Say "Yes or Dial"

To find out who you have stored in your phone book you:
1. Press the HFL button
2. Say "Phonebook List"

Hopefully this all helps, it sounds kind of confusing but after you do it a few times it will come second nature.

On another thread, someone mentioned that another way to accomplish #3 & 4 is to just press and hold the HFL button. After a second or two, the system interprets the held button as "yes". I have found this helpful since my "yes" was sometimes getting mis-interpreted as a number.

Holy crap, I really hope that's true. I will try that today. I hate having to say yes.. along with hear myself say the name.

Yes holding the send button works well. Just make sure you hold it until you hear the beep.

Yea, I have been using it.. but the thing I hate.. is my voice. When I have people in the car i just hit it quick and say call.. instead of holding it down because it takes like 4 seconds.. which in that time it says, "would you like to call (name)." But it is a hell of a feature just wish it was quicker
