good wires for two amps
good wires for two amps
Hi everyone. Okay, I have a kenwood excelon radio and I just replaced my factory speakers with some jl audio ones. The front ones sound good but the rear ones are low n staticy(sorry if i misspelled it). Now, i'm going to hook up a kenwood 4 ch amp(about 600w) for my highs and a jl audio 1000/1 for my subs. Im askin if i should get two seperate power wires or one power wire? thank you all for your help. I have a non navi 06 acura tl btw. If you know what's causing the rear speakers to be low and staticy, I would appreciate your input on that too.
first off great choice of selection on the JL amp, the speakers, what subwoofer are you connecting to the amp?
I think the static is due to running the wire. you have the make sure that the wire connection for the speakers is in this order:
speaker wires going from head unit to the amp, and from the amp to the speakers. look it to that and see if that helps,
As far as the question with regards to the wire goes, you dont need 2 separate wires from the battery. run a 0 gage or 4 gage from the battery to the where you want to mount both amps. then use a distributer to get two power wires, one for each amp.
I used this technique in my old mazda, ran a 4 gage wire from the battery to the input of a 4 channel distributer. then ran 8 gage wires from the distributer to the amps..
hope this helped..
Goodluck
