Getting out of car audio
I'm done, getting ready to post a FS thread in the BM. I'll probably list everything for half of what I paid for it but I'm not going to separate.
Today was the day of the So Cal meet. I went to leave town this morning and had no subs. Traced it down to a bad sub channel in my HD 900/5. I'm done, no more shit going bad the morning of a meet, no more spending money on high end shit that is less reliable than the cheap shit I used to run. I truly have a hatred for this hobby.

Not if I sell it quick enough. You wouldn't believe the PMs I've already gotten on DIYMA. It's basically sold in less than 20 minutes. With the hell the GN put me through all these years, always screwing up right before I made a pass at the track, embarrassing me with 16 second runs, it's still never been as frustrating as car audio.

Do it! Kidnap him if you have to. Me and him ended up in Vegas at the same time last year and missed each other by hours. This year we're missing each other by a week. So so close. I'm slowly learning to drink again, I should be good by the time you two make it out here.

I don't see why you would get rid of all your stuff if your amp went bad. Seems like a lot of work to get back to square one, but I'm not going to ask questions.

Did you post it on DIYMA yet? I've been talking to Niebur3 about getting some estoec 242 gt's for a 2-way setup, and he said you were really happy about the quality of those Dyn's. ![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)

Brother, sorry to hear you're having so many issues with your audio equipment. I know how much time and effort you put in to it....

Haha. Me and you are very alike it seems. I can't count on one hand the number of times I've said I'm done or about to be done in my posts within the last few months. If you're going to keep the car i'd keep the stuff. Or at least keep the speakers and change amps to something cheaper. I'm trying to downsize..I'd say you do the same if you want something simple. Maybe sell your mids and run a passive x-over or amp that can do 2-way active. Run a 5 channel like I want to do and walah..done.

Damn, I feel you on headaches my system continually frustrates me I fix one thing and then something else I was satisfied with before the fix doesn't work right and I'm no where near as in deep with components, $$, and system design as you are. Hopefully you can maybe simplify and be satisfied with the sound and can get back into your other hobby, I would love to see your GN fully running.

That's pretty much where I'm at. I even ordered more parts so I'm actually moving forward. I took a chance and ordered some $1 metal grills to cover my exposed Dyn430s in the kicks finally. By pure luck the 5-1/4" grills fit absolutely perfect over the 3.5" speaker so I'm excited about that. I didn't waste my $2 lol.
I'm fighting the urge to get rid of the processing and go back to passives so there are no more adjustments to be made and I can just enjoy it again.
I'm going to shoot you a PM over on DIYMA.

IHC i know the feeling youre talking about, not wanting to mod anymore. Ive been that way for the past year mostly because a passing in the fam and having to start a new job and all that crap. Loosing time from all of it too just made me lose motivation. Im slowly getting my mind set back into it to finish off the car once and for all. Maybe you need a break for awhile from it.
