Front Speaker Upgrade.

Hello everyone, I'm considering upgrading the speakers in the front doors, and I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations and how hard the process of switching them out is? THANKS!

Gonna need more info. What's your budget? Are you planning on adding a sub or anything else soon or later on?

As far as install, it's not too bad at all. Plenty of write-ups and help here. Always nice to learn instead of paying someone to do a quick/crappy job for $100+

Theres everything from a basic upgrade to expensive/exotic installs, most with pictures from '04 to the present. Search around this forum and you'll find what you're looking for.

Definitely need more info to accurately say how hard/long it would be to do your front speakers, but even the most difficult ones aren't too bad as long as you can use simple power tools it is fairly easy.

Since we don't know any details, I'm going to suggest my favorite, the Dynaudio Esotar speakers.

MOS805, do you guys ever have any TL meets in the area?

Unfortunately no, as far as I've seen we only have a few people on the Central Coast, one in Santa Barbara, one who splits his time here and in the Central Valley but doesn't have a TL anymore and one other person in my city with a 1G TL. If I am not mistaken you are in the Bakersfield area correct?

IHC, do these need to be amp or is the stock amp sufficient?

Lets just say you need to get rid of the stock amp asap for your front stage. It's low powered and has crazy high distortion.

I'm assuming you haven't looked at those Esotar speakers yet....if you can afford them....you can afford an amp lol

They're as efficient as any other speaker but they take tons of power so well it would be a shame to not give them some juice. They're known to be very underrated in power handling. I've given my midbass 300w and they remain very clean.

I highly recommend an aftermarket amp no matter what speakers you choose. Even the stock speakers sound a lot better with an aftermarket amp.
