Just purchased an 08 acura tl type s and noticed the stereo broadcast on fm stations every so often will cut in and out. Happens on various fm stations. The vehicle has tint and I dont know if that has anything to do with it. Anybody experience this or have input before bringing to the dealer?

 

Is the tint metallic? If so, it may have an affect on the reception.

 

Looks charcaol black to me.

 

That usually happens on XM stations, not FM stations.

Not to mention that the FM antenna is built into the rear glass, and it is in between the glass and the tint, so it would be odd if the tint was the cause of the problem.

Do you drive in and around a lot of buildings or are you in a mountainous region?
