Fixing Trunk Rattle From Sub

I just had two 12 inch Alpine SWR-1222D's installed yesterday into a sealed enclosure. Bass sounds amazing but trunk rattles like crazy. Its not the license plate but the area around it where the license plate lights are (that gray area). I pressed on that and it stopped significantly. What I'm wondering is what will stop it completely? I dont want to buy Dynamat unless I know its gonna work, but if thats the best solution I surely would. Anyone have a suggestions?

Dynamat will work. Make sure you get the extreme version or whatever. Not only will it work, but it will sound much better. You'll be surprised. Also, don't forget to get a dynamat license plate kit, too.

I'd use rubber washers if it's just your license plate. If it's not then yes you can remove EVERYTHING out of your trunk and put down a healthy helping of dynamat or the like. If you can use a sticker then you can put down dynamat.

The procedure is not hard at all, but it is time consuming.

Make sure to purchase a roller...otherwise don't bother. The dynamat must be applied with care to cover all the crevices. The trunk lid is the main culprit. The rear deck is the 2nd, and the entire trunk side and bottom are the 3rd. This WILL weigh down your car.

Make sure to use rubbing alcohol to clean any dirty areas like around the wheel wells before you apply the dynamat so that you make sure you get a good adhesion.

I know...but a entire bulk pack of dynamat extreme is only 20 pounds....and thats with 36 square feet. The trunk only requires about 22 feet tops...I dont see it making that much of a difference. Luckily I have a heavier spring in my trunk since I have a decklid spoiler
