Fire Hazard?

Allright, so my stupid stock subs always rattles when the bass hits. I got pretty tired of it so i stuffed the hollow areas around the sub with cloth t-shirts. (above the felt lining in the trunk) None of the t-shirts are actually touching the sub itself, but will the sub heat up enough to set fire to the t-shirts? If it is, then i dont feel comfortable driving around with a potential inferno on my ass. not to mention its next to the gas tank.....

You'll never make enough heat there to start a fire. I don't know why you all don't just get it fixed. They replaced my rattling sub under warranty and now it's great. There are TSBs about it.

I tried to have them fix it but then they said some kind of bullshit about how the shelf itself is rattling because the bass is too powerful. whatever. then they said it wasnt under warranty because acura specifically told my dealership that they cant do repairs for the shelf. BULLSHIT!

They are wrong. Don't just give up. I just got my car back yesterday after the dealer had it for a week fixing a couple new rattles that cropped up. One of them was on the back shelf and they completely fixed it.

My guess is they aren't respecting you because you're only 17. Take your dad with you next time, if you can. They may not be so quick to give him the same BS they're giving you. Good luck.
