Finally got some pics of my stereo install.

Have had this in for a month or so, but one of the amps stopped working. Turned out the voltage on the LOC was too high causging the amp to go into protection. Got it back from the factory yesterday and re-installed... It sounds pretty sweet now. Amp dialed in 1605 watts at 2 ohms though, only rated at 1400.

Yea! I didn't want to cut the car up too much, it's a lease...

I figured that little cut out was cheaper than a new pice of the dash if I put it on the right side! Plus it is easy to get to and sorta consealed. I would like to paint the knob the same color parchement, but not sure how it would hold up to use?

Wow that's a lot of money to invest into a leased car unless you intend on: (A) Purchasing the car at the end of the lease (B) Removing the components prior to returning the car.

2LOW,

Did you change the stock front/rear/center speakers?

Forgive my ignorance, but the BIG amp is for the sub and the little one is for the 4 other speakers?

B... it is worth 1100 bucks for an install for 3 years of enjoyment... that is how I look at it anyways. Plus I like the car so much, I plan on getting another one, so it would be cheaper the next go around just having all this custom stuff re-installed into an 08.

No, and yes... the little amp is 4x75 @ 4 ohms... about 120 a channel RMS with the factory 2 ohm speakers... we will say it gets LOUD. haven't popped a speaker yet, don't know when, but it will happen.

The stock center is running off the stock amp, the others are running 3 seperate line out converters to take the signal seperated from the factory amps and factory eq for the vehicle and re-amping them a heck of a lot louder and cleaner... That way the factory 5.1 all works like it did, just much better.

What did you use as lineout converters? You tapped into the signal BEFORE it hit the stock amp right?

No after... the installer said if we went before, the amps would have NO input voltage since the stock head unit SUCKS, and there would be major engine noise... so I had to adjust the LOCs to get the amps happy and not shut down. Luckily my amps have Overload protection, and they hit it a few times before I turned the voltages down. Now it is about tuned, I am going to bump the LOC on the sub here in a few, but other than that, no engine noise, and factory EQ settings through the factory amps make the sound stage and tune of the stock speakers sound un-real... it really sounds like I put a set of nice component speakers in.

The LOCs are the older Soundgates? PRA-1? they are adjustable for each channel.

Ok gotcha, so you didn't use a cleansweep or audiocontrol matrix then... I might consider doing that when I do it... not sure! Sounds like you've got a nice setup though, sure looks nice. good job!

Correct, no Matrix or Cleansweep... I asked the installer about both, and he said I didn't need it with the factory speakers, and if I swapped speakers, he recommended doing the Cleansweep if I wanted to give up my center, which I didn't.
