Finally found something I don't like about my TL...
Compared to Sirius, XM radio sucks.
I've got Sirius radio in my other car and absolutely love it. I figured XM would be comparible.
Unfortunately "Fred" and "Lucy" don't come close to "First Wave" on Sirius. And the "70's, 80's, and 90's" stations on XM seem to play songs that we didn't even listen to back in the 70's, 80's or 90's. It's like they are trying too hard to be different, to find "lost tracks that don't get played on FM" -- forgetting that there may have been a good reason those songs got lost in the first place.
I also miss my NFL Radio station. Nothing beats 24 football talk when you are in a bad mood. Sorry, but NASCAR doesn't make up for it.
Does anyone know if there is an easy way to swap out XM for Sirius, or is it a completely built in unit? If XM doesn't begin to grow on me, I may have to let my 3 month trial expire. And that would suck...

I agree, I wish I had sirius as well, I love listening to Howard Stern and soon he will be gone off the normal air waves and off to his new sirius studio............I should have bought a nissan........ just kidding, Im not that dumb. (btw for those who dint know nissan comes with sirius)
XM always got more publicity so one would assume... Anyway, once we get the car I have a feeling my dad will be to cheap to keep up the subscription. I also heard rumors of a merger. Could this be like the radio battle of VHS or Betamax?

Like you mentioned, baseball is great. But it's simply not the NFL

Same thing with the music. Sure deep playlists are great. But there is a point where it's TOO deep. Sirius is way deeper than any FM station, but then you get to XM where every fourth song makes you go "What the hell is this garbage" and switch the station. You could literally listen to Sirius all day without considering reaching for the dial...
To each his own. For me, XM just happens to be a distant second.

Football on the radio? Meh! I don't like football at all, but I'd hate it on the radio. The only advantages on Sirius are: NHL radio (whenever hockey gets back), real NPR, and Air America.
Advantages to XM. Baseball. Rob Dibble. More Baseball. College Football and Basketball. Bob Edwards. XMU.
Big disadvantage to Sirius. XM is on 4th generation chipsets. Sirius is on 2.5. You get faster channel changes, better compression, and a better experience on XM from a technological standpoint.
I have to agree that SIRIUS is WAY better than XM. I tried XM for 3 months
when I got my TL. Needless to say, I did not renew the subscription. I thought
that not only was the programing not to good, but the audio quality was just a little better than AM. I have tried SIRIUS and I am hooked! The pics say it all.

I'm thinking about getting the Sirius StarBase unit,
which is also blue and matches the TL lighting...
I read good reviews about it.
and with a lifetime membership, I don't have to pay any more for programming.
(after 4-5 yrs it becomes free satellite radio, prorating the cost,
and if I sell the TL I can always take it with me)
Can't go wrong with both XM and Sirius...

comes with receiver unit, built-in clean FM modulator, remote control, adapters antenna and cables.
