Hey everybody, I'm pretty much a Noob when it comes to the TL since I've only had it for a couple months. Anyway, I was wondering if it was possible to upgrade the factory stereo with an aftermarket one. Everything looks so proprietary and I haven't seen anybody here with an aftermarket unit, so I was just wondering if it was even possible without some crazy customizing...

NEEL, and KingofPain, both have aftermarket stereo's

 

It's easier if you have a non navi TL. A double will fit but you'll have to fab a trim piece and do something about the half circle cut outs.

 

That's exactly what i thought. I've installed stereos before, but nothing like custom fab stuff. If i take it to a shop, will the be able to do it?

 

Yes, but it will cost about $250-$350.

Is that a screen from an oem nav from another TL? How do get the functions from your climate control to work?
