Hey guys, I know there are many threads about the ELS system in our cars but I just stumbled accross this site. As many of you discuss and I agree that the system is very sub par. Even when tuned properly it's hard to really get what you want out of this stereo. In the past I have had Boston Acoustic and Alpine systems that sound fenominal, without overpowering the ears and this one just does not compare.

Anyway I just wanted to post this incase you guys have not seen it.

I love the part where it says "delivers 500 times the audio resolution"

To me 500 x shit = 500shit

In all honesty, it is clear and covers the audio spectrum and probably is very flat on an audio meter, but it just doesn't have any balls. It only sounds decent at half volume. It does have a little bass if you lay your head on the rear deck in the center.

 

I think the bass really depends on the track and the recording. Some songs sound like shit when it comes to the bass and others sound really clean.
