DualDisc-Wonder if this new format will play 5:1 in the ELS system?
Got this from davisdvd.com
» DUALDISC
A group of record labels - including EMI Music, Sony BMG Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group - announced yesterday that they will introduce the new DualDisc format in October. The DualDisc, with CD content on one side and DVD content on the other, are promised to be compatible with nearly any CD or DVD deck (an initial attempt of this same idea with "The Blair Witch Project 2" DVD release ultimately failed when it was discovered that the discs were too thick to be played in car CD decks). The first round of DualDiscs will arrive on October 19th and will include the albums "David Bowie Reality," "Five for Fighting: The Battle for Everything," "Good Charlotte: The Young and the Hopeless," "Miles Davis: Kind of Blue," "Incubus: A Crow Left of the Murder," "Train: My Private Nation," "Usher: 8701" and "Yo-Yo Ma: Yo-Yo Ma Plays Ennio Morricone." Each disc includes the full album on the CD side, a DVD-Audio 5.1 mix of the album on the other side and an assortment of special features from behind-the-scenes tour footage, artist interviews, live performances, music videos, lyrics, artist diaries and more. Retail will be around $20 per disc.

This is great news. The dual-disc format had been mired in royalty fights for a while. This should open the floodgates for new DVD-A releases.
Both sides should work in the ELS, there's no reason to think otherwise.
Can't wait!

I have some DualDiscs from the test market period early in the year. I will try one in the TL and report back. These things are actually two discs glued together, so they are thicker than a DVD-A or CD.
Wish me luck!

Great news! Woooohoooooo! Time to buy ANOTHER copy of "Kind of Blue".
With this news, I believe SACD is dead in the water.

Mine worked as well. I have to admit, I did flinch a bit wondering what I would do if one got stuck in there. The other thing I wonder about is if they would come apart inside the unit on a HOT day! I don't think these "test market" discs were designed with Acura TL's in mind!
