Driver 1 Display - Change

Is there a way to change the display that says Welcome Driver 1 on the 2007 TL to something like Welcome Scott?

Yeah, it's in your setup in your Nav. Don't recall the exact location off the top of my head right now, but it's in the Nav.

I tried changing in the Nav the user name 1 and user name 2 , but it still says Welcome Driver 1. If you locate where it is that would be awesome!

Ya know, I just noticed on the display under the Speedometer, it does still say Driver 1. Haven't seen how to change that. It's a shame it doesn't change it in both places.

This doesn't exist on the 04-06 MY cars. My 2007 Odyssey has it though.

It's hardcoded into the firmware, not designed to be a configurabel change. It will require someone with some serious knowledge of the systems ECU/ control modules to reverse engineer this one.

Too bad they didn't link those to the user names you can set in the Nav.

Just go and get your name changed to Driver 1 ... it'll probably be easier, and get your last name changed to Driver 2 to avoid future problems.

I noticed this 'feature' the other day. In my parents CTS it shows 'hello name(username)' when they enter the car. I figured this could to, but in nav when you change user1 or user2 it says welceome driver2 or driver1.

Also, i thought the user1 or user2 was linked to the keys but its not.

I wonder if it's an easy change the service department could make if/when you are in for service.

yes the key fobs are linked to the individual drivers and it is identified on the back, that is how it knows how to make the adjustments for each driver

Ummm, you can change the User1 and User2 names in the Navi screen? How have I never seen this? Where do you do that?

You can't. That' what the original poster was asking, and the post has evolved into... "change YOUR name to Driver1 so it will match if it's that important to you".
