So I upgraded the CD player to a double id kenwood and now the top navi touch screen and lower buttons don't work. Does it only work with the factory CD player??

 

Touch screen should work. The source buttons will not be fully functional

 

Just did this today with an 08 TLS, you can get the oem nav to work, you just have to loop together the two NAV wires out of the 40 pin connector that goes into the OEM head unit.

If you have a 3gtl that is older than 2007, check out Rdstinky's thread on installing an aftermarket HU, he discovered the wires for that model, the connectors are different for 04-06 and 07-08. (which I just realized today)

 

O okay. Yea I got a 05 tl so if anybody knows the wires please help

Exact thing i did to mines, the link on last post has it all. For those who might want the steering wheel remote control to work just buy a Axxess Integrate Aswc 1 Interface hook a couple of wires and plug the interface to your radio and presto the remote works again. Some people might not want to invest in one, but for some its cool to have it working again. Easy to install no programming. Now can anyone come up with ideas to get the Navi prompts to work?

i need ur help guys my 07 type screen will not work after double din install the harness is different and would like some help figuring it out so i can get my factory nav to work again its driving me crazy
