Does anyone else feel my pain with this AUX in?

I just recently upgraded my 2004 TL to a 2008 TL Type S. With my '04, I had that HON adaptor that was awesome. It charged my IPOD and I could control the songs from the Channel UP/Down from the steering. Now I have this AUX in that doesn't charge and I have to keep going back to the unit to change songs. So annoying! Now I'm considering ripping apart my dash again to install another one of those things. I never considered it would be so inconvenient. Does anyone else feel my pain?

I wish I had your aux in. My 05 has a BlitzSafe ipod adapter and it works but it's got plenty of quirks.

You wil still need to control from the ipod but you might want ot try the belkin unit that will hook up to the ipod's docking connector. It will charge the ipod and uses the fixed-level audio output (since it uses the dock connector) as well so you won't be accidentally changing the volume all the time. It also has a level adjustment so you can match your ipod's volume to other signals going to the HU.

Basically plug this thing into your ipod and then run a 3.5mm male-male cord from it to the car's aux in. I think you can stash the whole lot in the lower center console and just run the docking cord out when you need it.

I thought this issue was the biggest downside with my 08 TL-S. I don't like having to take the ipod out of the console to change songs. Eventually I'll get tired of it and get a Dice probably. It's a shame Acura hasn't figured out how to smoothly integrate an Ipod into the Nav the way so many other car companies have done.

No you don't. XM will will work with either the Dice unit or th USA Spec unit as long as you have a y-connector (which I know comes with the USA Spec unit). The only issue with XM is whether you choose to give up the on-screen/display text for XM when you use the Dice. The XM will still work.

Are there any other options besides the DICE, or is that the absolute best way to go?
