DIY Radar Detector Hard Wire Installation

Does anyone have a DIY for hardwiring a radar detector? Pictures would be great too.

I'm sure the process is the same for all detectors, nevertheless, I have the Escort 8500

Thanks

it all depends on where you want to install it

i put mine in the middle of the windshield, and wired it into the middle overhead console.

if you are using that location to hook it up, use the 22 pin connector thats attached to the HFL unit.

pin 1(yellow/red wire) is the accessory wire
pin 13(black) is the ground wire

Are there any radar detectors that you can hook into your stereo so you can hear it over the music?
