DIY Grounding Kit

Has anyone done this yet?

http://www.edesignaudio.com/edv2/pro...roducts_id=165

3 ft. ground to chassis
4 ft. ground to engine block
8 ft. power to alt

It's supposed to help ground the car better, and help a bit in throttle response. I'm sure I could pick up enough wire and connectors from local store for about $15 or less...Any comments?

ah the Big 3. works great in most cars. the reason its pricey is the thick and heavy duty wire. you can tjust pick up any type of wire. Audio wires are very durable.

i'd get a 0 gauge wire, 4 gauge is about stock size.

On my RSX, yes. Also b/c i have an audio system, Hondata Kpro, and both require SOLID and GOOD grounds. It makes the electrical system fluctuate a bit easier and everything runs smoother.

Now the TL is drive by wire, so its electrical, so theres a strong possiblilty that you'll see a slightly faster throttle response and smoother acceleration. I plan to do a simple grounding kit with leftover audio wires i have.

I don't see much possibility of a "grounding" wire kit having any effect on the Electronic Throttle Control system since it doesn't even use the "grounding" wires you guys are talking about. Current flows from the alternator, through the fuses and relay, through the control module and the throttle actuator, and then the current is returned straight to the engine block (which is the negative terminal of the alternator) through the wiring harness. The current for this particular circuit doesn't travel over the larger engine-to-chassis or battery-to-chassis wires -- in fact, those engineers at Honda were smart enough to reference most of the drivetrain electronics to the engine block rather than the chassis. Almost like they were educated, experienced, and knew what they were doing...

Once the engine is running (and the alternator is charging), the drive-by-wire system would continue to work even if you disconnected both of the "grounding" wires (though that would certainly mess up other systems on your car, so I can't really recommend that you try it).

I really have no experience with grounding and the electrical system of the car, besides car audio.

There were a few people that did this, or similar grounding mod's and had improvements on throttle response.

I have the Sun hypervoltage groundign kit on mine... I did notice a smoother throttle response WITH VSA on...

With VSA off, no difference at all...

I have a second grounding kit if anyone is interested...
