You forgot the red text but
THis is how the radio works with navi TL's:
The radio is connected to the a harness which later connects to the navi DVD drive and wires form the DVD drive go to the screen for control. If the navi software that conrols the HU on screen (audio menu) is a different version or different type, the radio will not work and display an error message. This can be done easily on a non-navi TL because there is no onscreen controls, just on the HU.

Great info. Does anyone know if the connectors in the back of the new 07 dvd navi unit is the same as the 04-06 dvd navi unit? if not, how different are they? I got the information that the new 07 type S dvd navi unit needs the updated XM/HFL unit also but the MDX dvd navi unit doesn't require the updated XM/HFL and can work with our car. Do all these dvd navi system share the same connector as the 04-06 connectors in the back?

06 MDX is the best bet though in theory any 4.x software unit that has HFL and XM with NO traffic capabilities...

I'm still waiting on the 06 MDX dvd navi unit (should be arriving soon ) to see if this will fix the dvd changer problem on the 07 HU. the 07 HU's dvd changer doesn't spin up when I insert the disc. and I noticed the display on the LCD is the same as the 04-06. at this point, I assume that the new HU will need a newer version 4.xx to work. 06 MDX's dvd navi unit is able to use the new 4.xx disc and won't require the newer HFL/XM module. besides that, I already have all the wiring done and ready to go. currently, I have 2 sets of harness behind my HU one for the 04-06 the other for the 07 HU. everything on both HU works perfectly (XM/AM/FM/HFL/controls/tape). the only thing that's not working is the dvd changer (the most important part if you're doing the swap).

I think this is how the acura setup goes:

07 HU ==> 07 dvd navi unit (rear camera plug) <== 07 HFL/XM module

Thread revival?

I'm wondering if you got this working. You can't just swap the changer right? I just want changer that can play MP3s...
