Dice Unit R4 Silver Not Charging Ipod Touch
I just installed a Dice R4 unit into my 2006 TL with Navi, and was wondering if anyone is having issues charging their iPod Touches. I'm using a jailbroken iPod Touch with the 2.1 firmware.
Also, can someone tell me how to disconnect the XM tuner in the trunk? The XM signal is bleeding into the iPod's playback, and I'm not sure which wire I need to disconnect in the trunk.
Thanks in advance!

When did you purchase your Dice unit? I've had mine for a month now and it will change an iPhone 3G with no problem. I'm assuming it will do the same for a touch since they are almost the same. Give Dice a call since all of the new units shipped have USB charging that should juice up your iPod touch. Sounds like you need the new cable.
The XM unit in the trunk about a foot away from the DVD navi drive. It is a silver box with exactly 3 screws holding it to the frame. I removed the screws and pulled it out so I could see it when I was unplugging it. Let me know if you have any questions and I will try to walk you through it as best as I can.

I'll take a look in the trunk liner tonight and let you know what I find. Thanks!

I just finished checking out the XM tuner. The silver box was actually bolted to the outside of the inner frame. Was I supposed to disconnect the white plug with the 14 pins, or do I need to look for something else?

I disconnected the entire unit. The 14-pin connector goes to your head unit, the 2-prong connector is to the antenna on the roof. Glad you found it.

I got mine from a vendor on e-bay and I think that is close to what I paid. I have some bugs with my Silverline, nothing major but keep me posted after your install. I want to see if you have some of the issues I have.

Unfortunately, this unit fried two of my older iPods when I tried to confirm whether it would charge or not

I actually had time to play around with my ipod touch and yes, the Dice unit I have will charge it. It actually works better in the fact that on my old ipod video, 5th gen, it would not automatically resume playback if I started the car. I had to hit the FM/AM button and then XM for it to start playing. With my ipod touch, it starts right where it left off when I cut off the car. Another thing I noticed is that it will charge it even if the car is off. I'm not sure what the charging rate is but something I will need to be mindful of in case of battery drain.
