I though some people might want to see what the navigation screen Ipod text looks like when using a Dice Ipod Adapter. As you can see in the first picture the test also comes up on the display just right of the clock. This was an added bonus, now I don't have to keep the navigation screen set to Audio to see the text. By the way the Ipod sounds better than when I was using the Aux input. The Dice is installed in my 07 Type S.

 

hey levelpar1 what's on channels 2 3 4 5 6 do they do anything?how do you find your songs on the nav;and can you still use your ipod or does it lock up when you plug it into the dice unit.where do you store your ipod?

I leave the radio/XM on channel 1. All of the other channels have a function like playlist, Artist, etc.... I can still use the Ipod, no problem with it locking up. I keep the Ipod in the center console. I used to have it on a Dice cradle on the right side of the radio. I took that out because I thought the Ipod might get ripped off.

 

Yes, the text does scroll on the top screen.

 

hey levelpar1 with the dice unit and the text hooked up does the real-time traffic still work when you unhook the xm;and does the acura link still work with the colors on the nav screen for the highway speeds.thanks a lot for all your help.how did you get it for $140 shipped i looked at there web site and it says it cost more then that.

 

hey levelpar, how did you get the Category title to show "iPod?" Mine still shows "Dice." I'm having trouble searching through albums, is it because I have my iPod on shuffle? Searching through playlists seem fine.

 

Albums go though all the albums on a given playlist. So if I have 40 songs on a playlist from 10 different albums, you'll select another album. If you don't load a playlist and set it to shuffle over your entire iPod, it's going to do just that and jump all over the place.

One idea is to create a playlist consisting of all your songs, then the iPod will be a little more managable with shuffle on.

You can use it in CD mode, but you won't have text.

 

A DICE kit allows you in control and see information from your iPod without having to touch it. Simply, it turns your iPod into a CD changer.

 

It will work exactly the same in your 05. Contact uncald4, he's the main sales guy here on the boards.

 

Mine says DICE also, I wish it said ipod but I don't think it is changeable. Some of the earlier ones said ipod, then they settled on DICE.

 

We had to because the same interface chip is used for both the ipod and HD kits.

Looks like you are in CD Changer mode, not Text mode . . .

Before you installed it, you had to set the DIP switches to SAT mode - and make sure you have the XM unplugged.
