Detailed sound system install. Help and Suggestions

Hey guys

I'm looking to upgrade my speakers and add a new sub in my 04 with navi. I think im just going to stay with the stock head unit but i want to add an amp for the speakers. I have a JL 300/4 but want to keep the 5.1. I'm thinking to switch the front 3 speakers and leave the rears stock. Is this even possible and if so what is needed? I know JL has their clean sweep but im not sure if it works for the 5.1.

The sub should be easy with the clean sweep hook up. 500/1 to W6v2

Any suggestion on what to do?

For your sub, I recommend you check out Uncald4's fiberglass box. Lots of people here have them, he makes them custom for each person's specs and the fitment is excellent. Vs. my old 1cu/ft sealed box, the uncald4 enclosure makes the sub sound 10 times better.

in the TL you dont have 5.1 unless you buy a 5.1 dvd-a or 5.1 cd.........so its useless. plus speaker placement is totally incorrect for 5.1 effects to even come close to true 5.1. so losing it wouldnt make a difference....I put a set of 6.5 inch beyma in the front in the doors another set of 5.25 speakers in the doors facing me and tweeters in the dash....the back speakers i dont even use but those are beyma as well and i have a 1000/1 and 300/4 the 1000 for the 3 10inch w6 subs runs at 2.68 ohms and the vocals in the front of the car run at 2 ohms the rears run at 4. the sound is insane......its all about how crazy you want to get and how much $$$$$ you got to spend on it all.

Thanks Matt. Compliments are always appreciated.

Tripn has a good sense that good sound comes from simplicity. I completely agree with that method. Solid fronts, rears and sub will go a long way. Stick to product that you know is worth a damn.

EDIT: I feel somebody watching......
