Dang Navi DVD Still Says Its in Open Status
Anyone experience this?
I cant get Navi to work because the dvd in the trunk says the door is open. I opened it to look at DVD , put it back in. Now I get the message that it thinks the door is still open. The door is definetely closed...
Any ideas?

Try it again... if not, you can disconnect the battery and wait a couple minutes, connect it again and hopefully the problem will be gone. You may need your radio codes and you will lose your preset stations... if you dont want to do that, go to the dealer. Good luck, and let us know what happens.

although heisenberg's uncertainty principle sometimes holds true, I have to recommend the following:
i would actually recommend going into diagnostics (press Map/Guide, Menu and Cancel buttons), and then doing "Load Disc" (I can't remember which menu item it's under).
This should allow you to go through the process of loading the disc.
If that doesn't work, there could be a problem with your DVD door switch (move your finger over the door or latch to see if it's stuck or jammed).

I would guess it's probably a bad door sensor.
Being that so many other things are faulty I wouldn't doubt it...
Call Acura Client Services and they'll probably tell you it's your fault.

Taped the door shut? Just to be clear -- there are really two doors. The first one is the door in the trunk liner with a hinge on top. The second door is built into the DVD drive unit and slides up.
