Hi, I have CompuStar Pro P2W9000FMR installed on my 04 TL. Everytime I remote start the car, it will unlock the door and start it up. Now since the car is unlocked, anyone can walk by and open the door and steal things in my car. If they do open the door, they will gain access but the car will shutdown and the alarm will sound. Does anyone know if this is a defect in the product or is the installer to blame?

 

Did you have this installed at an authorized compustar dealer? If no, you're probably on your own with getting it corrected. If yes, I would take it back immediately... It probably a simple 5-10 minute programming fix. I'm getting a compustar pro system in the spring.... Please don't be telling me about defects lol. I rememer when I first had my Viper 791XV installed on my Envoy it was doing something very similar and the dome lights would stay one... Long story short, the alarm worked fine but they made a simple mistake and tapped into the wrong wire. It was a quick fix but still a pain in the ass. Take in back and chances are you will have it corrected in a timely fashion. Compustar stands behind their product, if you had it installed at an authorized dealer and the installer is giving you problems. Don't raise hell, Give compustar a call and they will help you out.

 

INstaller forgot to bypass ignition wire. 1 wire fix then your Okay.

 

It has to do with the factory security system. If it does unlock, it should at least relock after its started.... I can't remember how mine works...
