I did a search for "static cd player" and couldn't find anything.

When I listen to certain tracks of a particular CD, the sound is full of static. It literally sounds like the static clicking/popping sound of a vinyl LP. It's way louder on certain tracks, barely noticeable on others, and nonexistant on the rest. I don't get any staticy sound when listening to XM. The CD plays fine in my Mac and my PC. I think other CDs play fine in the car but I haven't fully checked that out yet. Is it time to call the stealership for a head unit replacement? Maybe they'll give me an '07 headunit with MP3 and upgraded nav
