Carputer installer

I live in Northern Jersey in newark and would like to know if anyone up here knows of a place or someone capable of installing a carputer. I could built the pc myself but as far installing to the car i would be scared of screwing that up. I am willing to pay someone for a reasonable price but would like to recieve a professional look. Can anyone help me?

To tell you the truth wouldn't mind taking a weeks vacation for the outcome of your modification. That TL came out sweet. Did you do the fabrication yourself on displaying the original screens in the lower compartment? How much would everything come out to? Are there any downfalls about installing a carputer?

send me a PM and I we can talk more via email or AIM. It certainly wouldn't take a week, more like 2-3 days max. The quickest I've done a TL was in 19 hours straight, and it even came out a little better than mine

Yes, I did all of my own fabrication, configuration, installation, etc...

okay. Yeah, there's not much I could do. If you were west, I'd offer to meet you in Memphis, TN. I have a garage that I could use there, too

Indiana. It's a bit closer in TN.

I can give you my email or AIM if you want. Schedule wise, it's completely up to you.

Can you possibly post any recent carputer you have installed. It would be great if you were able to do it since bellville is the town next over.

As a rough estimate, I spent $1k on all hardware. Here's an old breakdown of the price:

I've spent maybe $200 since then.

I'm very interested in doing this mod to my car as well, but it looks like it'll be quite awhile as I'm trying to upgrade the rims and tires next. I'll look over the instructions first, but if I need some help, at least I'm not that far away from ITL.

Thats right! I think I saw your car at a meet last year...up at Andrettis

Let me know if you need any help, man I am currently building a new case for the second carpc. This one is gonna be about 5 times as powerful as the old one- Pentium M w 2MB cache, 533MHz bus, 1GB RAM, and the same 80GB hard drive.

You are correct, dude! I had wanted to ask you so much stuff about your CarPC, but it was too damn windy and cold that day. Your new system sounds pretty sweet. After I get the rims and tires, I don't even know if I should get CarPC or supercharger after that. Gotta check the yearly bonus for that. LOL

thought you guys might be interested...I'm not quite done yet, but here are some pics of the carpc case I'm working on. This case was made out of a single piece of acrylic and does not use any glue whatsoever. Let me know what you think

oh, and...that's the glovebox of my TL, btw
