Question about NAV to DVD conversion

I will be picking up Dom's unit w/ PNP this week. What other parts do I need to buy to make this work? I know I'll need a DVD player, obviously. Do I also need to buy a power inverter?? And what about a blitzsafe adapter or USA spec? Thanks in advance!

- Shouldn't need a power inverter unless your DVD player is 120 volt etc... I would assume your purchasing a 12v "car" unit.. Just need to find a good 12 volt source from the TL. Many tap into the DVD unit in the trunk.

- Blitzsafe adapter / FM modulator etc. will be required to get the sound through the TL radio/stereo. Dom's unit is for video input/processing only.

- Get yourself a good 1/3 or 1/4 color CCD backup camera and facilitate that into the project as well.

one other thing. I don't want to hook up my Ipod to my car. Do I still purchase the Blitzsafe?

Dom is just a video interface, you need something to provide the audio for your DVD player. Go with the Blitzsafe aux DMX if you don't want iPod support. It just provides one aux input. Other alternatives are PIE X3 or FM modulators.

YES>....

The blitzsafe is for AUDIO into the head unit. DOMs kit is for VIDEO into the headunit and has no audio functionality. You need BOTH if you are going to play DVDs... The only reasonyou WOULD NOT want the Blitzsafe or comparable unit is if a backup camera was the only thing you were going to plug into DOMs unit...

jhcivicex,

yes...everything discussed above is a direct hookup (PIE x3, Blitzsafe). The best integration I've found without any compatibility issues is the PIE x3 which gives you 3 aux audio inputs in addition to keeping your XM radio. The sound quality on these units are very good...
