CarPlay on Nexus?

Has anyone been able to get Apple CarPlay to work on their Nexus tablet? Georgia is implementing a "handsfree" law soon, and I'm thinking of which option to go. I already have a Nexus 7 tablet and it would be cool if I can add CarPlay to it, instead of doing a double-din. I've seen a couple of dongles that say they will work, but wanted to see if anyone has actually tried them.

I would think android and apple are incompatible...............
there's no way you're running any kind of apple software on the android hardware...unless you emulate it...can you even emulate apple on android? I've heard of emulating windows on android...but not apple.

That's kind of what I was thinking until I saw this:
Amazon Amazon

Just not sure how well it works.

That device is neat! After reading those reviews,I'd be weary though.

If you just a want a solution so you don't get pulled over, you can buy a bluetooth HFL module off amazon, and have it go into your iSimple (or other audio interface device) with a toggle switch to switch between your Nexus 7 audio and HFL module - this is what sockr1 did.
He goes over it in detail in his Nexus 7 DIY.

Bumping a semi-old thread, because this is an interesting concept, and I ran across this video the other day:

Disclaimer: I know very minimal about Nexus 7 integration.
