Until now, I have been able to switch from FM to AM to CD with no problems. CD/DVD always worked even with no disc inserted. Yesturday, I got a new GROM audio unit from RMA, and now, I cannot access CD/DVD mode without actually trying to put a CD in. So the GROM unit emulates a CD, it replaces CD1, but even if I put the disc in CD slot 2, GROM still doesnt connect. I know it works because it has power, I rested the connections and they give the correct voltage. It seems that the new unit came with recent firmware, so I tried to flash older firmware, still had the problem.

I did try to disconnect battery for 30 minutes, I even took a part the entire center console just to rule out some loose connector or damaged cable.

That new GROM module seems to have changed the way my navi unit accesses CD mode.
