Yes you need to install a LOC (line out convertor) and bring power to your truck.

This has been covered MANY times

1. Pull down the top trunk liner when you're in the trunk
2. Look up under there and you'll see a big hole in the middle with the sub nearly sticking out; there will be a plug connecting to the sub
3. Unhook that plug and that's your (Post-amp) Subwoofer (-) and (+) wires
4. Wire that into a Line-Out Convertor (LOC), which will allow you to run speaker wire into it and use RCA's from the LOC into your amp
5. Wire up the amp to the speaker; Do the ground/power/remote

DONE

Another route....

Our factory system has what's called a balanced/differential signal. It helps noise cancellation but it's a bitch to work with in a car. You can bypass step 3 and 4 if you find an amp that will accept a balanced signal. Here's a few that do

Only some of these amps..not their entire line

JL Slash and HD
Soundstream
Hifonics
TRU
Audison
Zapco REF
Precision Power

You don't really need a balanced signal amp to run a sub. You will cross all of the noise out of the signal anyway. A basic LOC will not convert balanced to regular anyway.
