When I make or receive a call, there is a tremendous amount of static and the voices are muffled and extremely low. There is also a lot of static (WAY TOO MUCH).
I have to turn he volume ALL the way up just to hear the voice which is hard to do over the static and muffling.
It is not the phone as I have tried several nor the reception which has full bars.

What could it be?

 

I'm not sure this is a question any of us can answer- it sounds like something that needs to be checked and fixed at the dealer.

If you tried different phones that ruled out the phone- it's the HFL that isn't working.

 

Don't call client services.....Worthless. HFL support number..........Don't bother. I've had my '05 TL in 4 seperate times without a solution. I just picked up my car last night from the dealership where the is another TL that has been there for over two weeks with the same problem. The techs have changed out everything possible without any luck. The latest supposed fix is changing out the navigation unit, which they have on order. The regional rep for Acura was at the dealership and was able to hear the problem. He said that is was unacceptable and would call the engineers to find a fix. Could this be a sincere attempt to help? Maybe.... Blowing smoke up our ass? more likely... In these days of parts changers, and 1-800 tech support for the techs, computer diagnosis I'm convinced that anything more than any oil change is a crap shoot. If changing the navigation unit doesn't help then maybe taking out 2 pounds of pressure out of only the left side tires will fix it. Maybe removing the steering wheel? driving with the trunk open?
