Can Nav files from "White DVD" be used to update "Orange"

I have version 3.40 in my 06' TL, my aunt has an 09' MDX and updated her nav. I realize the white DVD will not work in the 06' or will it?

I was thinking would it be possible for me to take the nav files from the white dvd and use the other files from my orange dvd to make a custom disc?

I have not heard of anyone trying to "cross-pollinate" the Navi versions, but I suspect it would not work.

I would be very surprised if it worked based on everything I've seen on this forum over the years, given that it's well-documented that the white disc won't work if your TL requires orange (and vice-versa). I suspect the data files are incompatible. But as dwb993 said, I've never heard of anyone trying this particular experiment.

From what I understand the software is the main difference between the 2 versions.

From what I have found by looking into the disc it may not work, but if it does I will post a DIY.

It's not going to work, but.....

....if you rub the 2 discs together......

Sorry-it still didn't work.

The biggest problem is the inability to burn the 3.xx disks so even if you could prove that the maps were compatible, a burnt disk still wouldn't work.

Also when you put in the new disk you are updating minor things inside the DVD drive but the new maps and such are on the disk and go along with the disk. You can't update it and take the disk out and put back in the old one!
