Yes it knows when im in the car as long as the key is with me. There is no way a person can turn the car without the key. Even if he brakes the window and tries to turn the car, he won't be able to do so. the car turns on like the 09-12 tl, just push the break and then the led will start flashing letting you know that the car is ready turn on whenever you push the start button, samething to turn it off. the installation was awful difficult, i ended up paying 400 and 300 extra for the kit. if anyone tries to do what i did i highly recoment getting this kit, if you get the one i got you will end up paying what i paid for or even more.

no problem man, i like sharing what i find or do specially since i have been getting a lot of help in this online community so the least i can do is to help others just like the help me
Yes i was there for 5 hours it was worth it tho

Like i said i highly recommed that kit since the one i got didn't come with a keyless entry which cause a lot of trouble. If i had know that before i would have paid a little bit more for the other kit.

Sorry, I normally don't like to be a jerk but I caught the first time you misused the word brake and break and found it ironic that you equally misused it the other way around. In case you wanted to know, they should be switched.

Anyway, VERY nicely done. Could you have chosen where to have it mounted?!?! I won't lie, this is a mod I've been so jealous of in the newer cars. Not having to take the key out is awesome. If I did it, I'd get some customer fiberglass done to hide the original keyhole and run the wiring to the dash like on the newer ones. Great mod, thanks for sharing!

If you lose or your fob fails. How would you get into the car or even start it? Do these systems offer like a hidden ignition switch to use a key with?

there is something that goes on the front windshiel, similar to the thing that comes with lincoln cars, it is on the driver side (the buttons to lock and unlock the doors) so in case you lose your key then there is always a way to open the doors and even to turn the car on.

this is pretty sweet. i like that you dont need keys or anything but the fob to turn on the car, also like the auto unlock sensing thingy.

i found this video demonstrating it on youtube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2KNdaihxXo

why this guy has a shift light installed on an auto i have no clue?!

where did you put the digital key pad that comes with the system?

Regarding the installation, it depends. For example, I'm not an expert nor do I know how to install things like this very well. That's why I had to ask a friend of mine to help me out with that and took us 7h to finish everything. And yes it comes with q bypass

So is the auto window roll-up/down module extra or does
it come with the system.

Also does this takes the place of the stock alarm?

the module comes with the kit and no it does not take the place of the sctock alarm, that being said, it will work with it. If you get the one i got, however, you will have to install an aftermarket alarm like i did (i had to install the viper) that's why i highly recomend to get the one from the link.

This Start Button system looks pretty good. Better (but more expensive) than the Advanced Keys one I was looking at.

Does anyone know what is underneath this part of our dash:

This looks like a good place to put the button.

ohh the video they have of that kit is kind of misleading then because the guy uses the cars oem remote to open the door.

I guess st800 it is! do you also know if the headlights still stay on once arming the car, then you can turn it off by pushing the lock button again?

also if anyone wants to have a group buy i think we could get the st800 kit for around $340 a kit with 5 people from what i saw on another forum...

Interested. Hmmmm, another mod? Should I do it? Tempting. It's pretty awesome. But how does this work with the factory alarm? Does it have a panic and alarm deactivation button? those are the only two I'm wondering about. I know it has a trunk release.

i love the classic turn key operation. also not a fan of the paddle shifters in cars but it does come in handy when you want two hands on the wheel. im just glad the TL-s has the option to use both the paddle and shift knob.

not to go more off topic but maybe you can tackle the project of getting a push button lock on your door handles like the lexus. im sure i saw some other cars have this feature but my friend has an is250 and i think its pretty convenient not to even take out your keys to open your door.

So I am still a little confused...........is there an alarm component and then a separate keyless start button module as well? is the 340 for the alarm component and the start button is extra$$? And I also saw a quote for $90 for installation? I know the install price will vary but that seems pretty good. Am I missing something?
