So I just got my TL and was wondering if I could use the XM trial subscription outside of my car, like on a portable unit or online?

If you already have a portable unit all you could do is try... My guess XM already has the applicable database that would reference your TL's XM radio ID as one receiving a promo etc.. My XM was activated by the dealer for the initial trial period... I did the online action after that.

I would just give XM a call, explain your desires and see how they can assist..

Go online and enter your radio number and it will authorize you for internet XM

You can use your radio code on channel 0 (zero) and set up your access to XM radio on the internet. You have to pay an additional $6.99 per month for 2-6 receivers. Using your internet connection is the only way I’ve seen so far to use XM in more than one location for free.

thanks guys. I wasn't able to check the radio id yesterday as my car was getting tinted, but I'm definately gonna sign up online so i can listen to baseball games at work
