Can I use the Speaker wire from the stock sub?

I'm installing an amp/sub in my TL. Can I tap into the stock subwoofer wires and use the speaker wires to feed an input to the line level input on my amp? Would it sound better if I used a Line Level to RCA converter? Also if this is possible. Then could I leave my stock sub connected and use the stock sub and the Kicker sub that's going in the trunk? Thanks guys

I would suggest that you use wire taps and tap the factory sub wires, and plug them straight into the amp into the HIGH input connection. If your amp doesn't have the high volage inputs, you will need to get a line out converter to reduce the signal. Rule of thumb is to keep the number of splices, cuts and interceptions down to a minimum.

If you get the Line out converter, you may introduce new noise into the signal and maybe cause some distortion to the audio. If you have some extra money and plan on doing the rest of the sound system, look into doing a setup with an audio processor, like the Rocksford 3.sixty.2, that is an LOC, audio processor, has aux inputs and retains and simulates 5.1 audio as well.
