Can I replace the GPS/touchscreen head unit with the non-GPS one?

Can I replace the GPS/touchscreen head unit with the non-GPS one?
Tried searching, didn't find anything, maybe I didn't use the correct search query.
Anyway, the touchscreen on our '06 TL displays the dreaded «please check your disc» message.
The touchscreen is broken (long story...), so instead of replacing/repairing both, can I just swap in the non-GPS, non-touchscreen head unit?
Basically, I'd install this one :

And then I'd just buy a Garmin GPS or something.
